Gambling and your privacy

I was cruising around one of my favorite haunts, Casinomeister, when I happened on a post which asked, What about your Privacy & Security?.

It turns out that a player is claiming that a casino asked him for the usual ID documents for their own records - but when asked by a payments processor for those documents, they were provided by the casino - NOT the player.

Let it be known that I have a very firm stance on this issue - confidential information should NEVER EVER be shared by a casino with any third-party. If the third-party wants documentation, they should ONLY be dealing with the player, NOT the casino.

Needless to say, if I ever find out who the processor is - and if it is indeed a third-party processor - I will be asking some very hard questions. Furthermore, the casino - which is supposedly accredited by my friend Casinomeister - and thus generally considered to be of a very high standard - will have a lot of explaining to do as well as modifying their procedures so that this will never happen again.

I just thought I’d drop by and put my thoughts here - but then this IS a blog, isn’t it? But I’m tired from the tons of coding I’ve been doing over the last couple of days - the new Awesome Jackpots already gathers data on 170 jackpots and more are still to be added, though of course you won’t see any of this on the old site. I’m really excited about this “renovation” because I’ve discovered the same type of energy I had when I first created Awesome Jackpots, one of the first jackpot tracking sites online - with really cool tools which sadly went mostly unused as they were a bit complicated and only members could see them in the first place. The new Awesome Jackpots will still be free, but visitors will no longer have to sign up to get access to the special tools being developed.

Enough for now. Time to add some more jackpot data before hitting the hay…
